Thickness for Welder Qualification according to QW 404.30

Hi All,
I am confusing on the statement of
"When a welder is qualified
using volumetric examination, the maximum thickness
stated in Table QW-452.1(b) applies"
in QW-404.30.
Hereby, I would like to seek your help for interpretation.

It simply means that if the test coupon is examined by RT or UT, the maximum thickness of the qualification is listed by Table QW-452.1(b).

Thank you for your kind clarification, That means the statement just want to emphasize the thickness of weld metal qualified in Table QW-452.1(b) also applied for both case the welder qualification using Bend Test and the welder qualification using volumetric examination in alteration.
