I've been looking on and off for evening classes for a while. Can't seem to find anything.

Does anyone know if UCONN still offers any welder skills training? How about anywhere in CT to get training towards AWS welding certification?

I don't know if UCONN offers any adult education welding programs, though. Perhaps someone else can answer that question?

Manchester is close for me. Too bad the spring classes already started. I'll have to call and see if i can get a fall '07 schedule.

Hello mike944, even though classes have already started, you might want to contact the instructors of those classes, sometimes they will allow you to start at off times, especially if you are willing to audit the class(that is, take it for the experience and not the grade). In other cases you can purchase hours for training at some facilities. Just a thought. Regards, aevald

Just to let everybody know, i did find some welding classes in connecticut in the fall semester. I'm posting them here in case anyone else is interested.   Registration begins the end of august, and classes start mid-september.

They are held at local tech high schools as evening classes for adults.   Here are 2 of the programs.   (there are many classes other than welding classes too)

Cheney tech, manchester

I have no idea how advanced or how basic the classes are. There are no "class descriptions" that i can find.   I am trying to get some answers, but nobody seems to be there during the off-season. If i can't get any answers, i'll probably take the "arc, mig & tig class" in bristol.   I think the "welding 1" might be too basic for my current expierence level.
