I need to purchase a new engine driven welder for one of our field trucks.
This machine will be used - 50% stick welding, 40% generating power for a 220v mig wire feeder, 10% TIG welding.
Must also provide power for 120 V power tools and a 220V plasma cutter.
Exposed to weather 24/7.
Absolute durability a must.
I'm trying to decide between:
Lincoln Ranger 305G - $3762
Miller Trailblazer 302 - $3437
Thermal Arc Raider 10,000 Pro - $3508
Which one would you choose?
Thanks
Tim
Tim,
I have a 305G, and it has been a good little machine. I use it for stick and fcaw. It runs both real well.
Jeff
Get the 305G, ive owned both.
I owned a 305 g and loved it. Nice mixed gas mig and lift-arc tig too.
I ran mine with a esab suitcase and a LN9GMA feeder. I think I prefered the mig arc to most machines you plug in the wall !!! :)
I don't know how well these units stack up against each other as I've never used an engine-driven welder. However, an Illinois firm is selling the Thermal Arc Raider 10000 for $2,775, shipping included:
