What is the best flux for repair brazing cast iron? Im told Peterson #3 is the best but its discontinued. Its a 2 part flux. Anyone here used it b4 and how does it compare to the fluxes out there nowdays? thx

Though I do not like to use this type of forum for sales, does the Anti-Borax No. 1 Cast Iron Welding Flux look like it will help?

I have sucessfully used Anti Borax #2 for brazing cast iron, You ask for the "best", well that I can't tell You, as a can might last You a lifetime, and if it works, You might not ever try anything else. The can I have was My grandfathers, probably purchased in 1970. Anti Borax #4 is supposed to be used for brazing cast iron, and #1 for welding cast iron. I don't have either of these.
