i DID NOT bomb the D1.1 portion ofLAcert

A few months back i posted "i bombed the D1.1 portion of LA city cert test." well i took the exam again yesterday and passed. I wanted to thank all the people that replyed to my post with all the good advice. i especialy want to thank Mr. Luna who was kind enough to fax me some very helpfull study guides and actually took a few hours out of the weekend to give me a little crash course of the D1.1. thanks again to you and everyone else who took the time!

Congratulations to Marro.

Chop, there has been a lot of advice on how to pass CWI and other exams on the forum. Don't feel bad if you don't get many responses, it's just that this keeps popping up every month and the advice is essentially the same. I would try the "Search" function of this forum and see if that helps you out. If not, post your questions again.

Like CHG already stated, this is a well worn path, many have travelled it and there is plenty to chew on in the archives.
I took the week long AWS sponsored prep course to help prepare myself for the exam, however many have passed the CWI exam by self studying. Like I've said many times, the prep course was a great help to me in that there were questions asked on the exam about materials that I've never had to deal with in the 20 years I've been in Structural Steel fabrication. There are materials for sale in the For Sale forum to help with your self study if you choose that path.
Good Luck on your exam, and if you have any specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Mario:
One of my friends called me today, he failed his vertical and will be trying again tomorrow.

Let the forum know when you pass so we can have a virtual party... Maybe give the other guy some pointers looking for help with his COLA test.

BTW, if you had kept in touch, I could have placed you in a job in your area - which has now been filled by another aspiring welder like yourself.

Update: And he failed his 4G. Funny, I tested him 3 years ago and he passed a 3G np.
