I HAVE A POW CON STICK WELDER AND NEED TO KNOW IF ANYBODY KNOWS IF I CAN RUN IT OFF OF 220 OR IF IT HAS TO BE 3 PHASE?

I have heard that some models of pow-con stick welders have a shock hazard... so be careful...

I have a PowCon 300SS. It can be run on either three phase, or single phase (220). I have the manual that explains the procedure for changing the input current.

I have only run it on 460v Three Phase.

If the 300SS manual will help, reply with a fax number here and I'll send you the pages you will need. There are some internal "voltage change-over procedures" to follow.

FYI: The manual does recommend a 60amp fuse for 230v single phase, and a 30amp fuse for 460 three phase.
