Hello, After searching the web for literally hours, this site finally appeared. Looks like a good place to post a question. Today's question is: Is anybody familiar with what the "Pulser" feature on a Miller Dynasty 200DX is intended to do? All the other features are pretty well explained, but the owner's manual is rather vague in this area, and I am not a seasoned TIG welder. Thank you.

HI Gregg

Here is a link with a bit of data on pulsed GTAW.

Pulsation is nice for autogenous lap welds and also for rotated pipe without filler.

Others claim that high frequency pulsation is beneficial for out of position fillets, providing greater control and minimized heat input. This however is not my experience. Nonetheless, I sure would like somebody who has had some succsess with higher frequency pulsation to share parameters and techniques.

Thank you Lawrence. That was quite an informative article. Pulsing makes a little more sense now. I'll check back tomorrow evening to see if anyone else has anything else to add.
