Is it worth the extra $500.00 to get a Miller 250 over the 210?

210 is good 250 is better for several reasons.

Mostly its versitility. Those amps between the two models can be a big difference. 250 will provide spray transfer in a variety of wire diameters including 0.45 flux core. Plus with the spool gun you will have a greater range of material thickness with Aluminum.

If you have the $500 its worth the extra investment.

I made the same comparson 2 years ago, I made the Bang for the buck decision. The mm251 is a fabulous machine, and you can get the mm210 with spoolgun for aluminum. I feel if 1/2" material is a regular plans then the mm251 is the correct call, but if 3/8" is the norm then it is awesome.

I own the mm210 and in its price range it slays all the others. I will be happy to answer any particular questions about it, contact me at pjseaman@sigecom.net! I really believe the mm210 is the preferred machine unless you need the higher power.

i recently faced this same question and ended up going with the 251. i think its one of those things where it's better to have it, and not need it, than to need it and not have it. i don't do that much thick stuff, but when something thicker is required you gotta have that extra capablity. I've used both, and both of them are great, but i would suck it up and go ahead and the get the 251.

I bought a smaller machine to save money several years ago because I wasn't going to weld anything heavy. I have since sold it and bought a MM 251 about 4 years ago. There is no comparison. The 251 is a fine machine and I can't imagine outgrowing it. I also bought an Econotig, and later sold it and bought a Dynasty 200 DX. Spend the extra money, you will save money in the long run if you are serious about welding!
