I've been welding for 28yrs. Have held certs for AWS ASME, & API. What I am looking for, is someone that has experiance with coreshield 8. I am set up to take a 6G & 6GR at the end of the month. I have used core 8, but never tested with it. I would like some pointers if anyone could help. Doesn't look like I am going to get no practice on any coupons with the way I work. Just don't like going in to a test feeling naked, if you know what I mean. Any input would be appreciated. THANKS: RUFUS.

This might help.

Corex, Hobart, McKay and Tri-Mark all share a website that has parameter sheets that list gas mixes, wire feed speeds for each position and diameter for all of their FCAW/MCAW wire.

http://www.hobartbrothers.com/product_info.asp

I've used the data on the sheets and they have been right on the money.

Check esab.com they are the ones who make coresheild. It is a gasless flux core. They have Weld Call from 8am-4pm for anyone to call and ask questions regarding applications, his name is Bill Robinson he can probably answer any question you have, I used to work in R&D at ESAB Hanover, Pa. Lots of Luck.
