Hey guys, I'm in the market for a machine in the 300 amp range(flexable). At present I am only stick welding but will be looking into plasma cutters soon. I also do some flux core doodling. Most of my work is on the side for a friend building tracking carts and such. This will also be used as a generator, so engine driven is a must. I live in Louisiana and generators are getting to be a must have around here. With them going for around $2500 for 6000W I figure why not go ahead and get a portable rig? Any opinions?

Hi, there are many options and I have no direct experience - sorry. Am interested to know why you say you must have one in Louisiana?

I've been without power for 3 weeks now. (Huricanes). Where I live we have frequent power outages. Lots of old oak trees around looking for things to fall on. I probably average 3 short term outages a month. 8 hours or less.I should mention that I am leaning towards a Trailblazer 302. I always thought highly of Lincoln in the past but it seems Miller is really outpromoting them. I hope its not JUST hype. But it seems as if Miller handles the generator side of it better.
