I have a 600 psi (about 490 F) steam system that uses SA335 P11 pipe. I want to transition from the SA335 to the stainless steel of a sampling system. I want to join 1/2" SA335 P11 pipe to an SA182 F316 socket weld fitting. What would be the proper filler metal?

We use ERNiCrMo-3 (GTAW) and/or ENiCr-3 (SMAW) for this application.

Charles,
This is good advise, but using the NiCrMo series in both applications, GTAW and SMAW, might be a little better than the NiCr-3. It will work, but the added Moly in the NiCrMo series will give added pitting corrosion resistance. Just a thought.

Jon,
My new e-mail address is chuck.meadows@avestawelding.com My old e-mail address will still bridge to my new one, though. I hope to see some of the great guys and ladies at the FabTech/AWS show in Chicago this coming week-end and week. Avesta will have a small technical booth there and I would be honored to meet some of y'all.

Thanks.

I inherited responsibility for many of our WPSs, and I'm always on the lookout for improvements.

I want to weld A335P91/TP347(1004F,18Mpa),what filler material is the best ?

Are you asking which filler metal is best to weld these two metals? If that is your question, you would need to probably use a stabilized filler metal.

I have welded P22 on P91(E9018-B9),then welded TP347 on P22(309).

If i want to weld TP347 on P91 directly, what filler matel shoud I use?

A lot of people use a 347 filler metal to weld dissimilar metals to the 347 base metal. In this case, you could probably use the 347 filler or even a NiCrMo filler metal since it has the stabilizers in it, too.
