I get asked this question over 100 times a year and I keep giving the same answer but for some odd reason I still get asked the question.Maybe some of you all can answer it for me.

What percent of full penetration welds does AISC require an AISC certified fabricator to perform UT on?

What does your quality manual say?
Whatever it is...that is what you inspect.

I think it's more of an issue of what the requirements of the job specifications are, rather than what AISC requires. As far as I know, the AISC doesn't require a specific percentage of full pen welds to be UT'd, unless as John said, it's written in your quality manual. Then, whatever percentage is written is what they require.
