I have a customer asking whether some Mic-6 cast aluminum plate he has can be welded or not. I did a search and came up empty. Does anyone have any info on this or would be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for the help.
MIC-6 is a tradename of Alcoa for a continuous cast Al product designed to have tight dimensional tolerances. Appears to be sim to 6061. So you could weld it with 4043, but don't expect much in the way of strength.
