Can someone give me some advice on where to find maximum interpass temps for A992 group4&5 shapes ? Flanges are 4 inches thick and the contract is requiring a minimum preheat of 350 F for this thickness.
Thanx in advance for any info.

I don't know where D1.1 states a maximum interpass temperature, if at all. D1.5 gives 450*F as the maximum in 4.2.5 unless otherwise approved.
4.2.2 restricts the preheat/interpass to 400*F for A709 grades 70 and higher. A992 obviously would not be in that category because it is basically equivalent to A709-50 (I know that you are aware of that).

I have not dealt with the FEMA or the D1.8 seismic supplements yet but I'm sure someone on the forum has. Maybe they can add some information?
