doese anybody know if there are tolerances listed in a6 for the offset of the web of a wideflange? i have a web that is 1/4" off from center of the flange w8x35

I've got a catalog published by USS (United States Steel Corp.) where all the tolerances for structural shapes are indicated. If you let me know your mailing address I'll send a xerox copy of it.

Yes. The A6 tolerance on the web being off center on a W8 x 35 is 3/16". Is this a structural application and do you have holes in the flange?

ASTM A 6/A 6M-02 Specification for general requirements for rolled structural steel bars, plates, shapes, and steel piling, Table 16.

It can also be found in the new Steel Construction Manual, Table 1-22

ASTM A6 Table 16 states "Web off center, Max. = 3/16". 5/16" for sections over 426 lb/ft.
