I'm trying to develop a repair process to use brazing to replace nickel coating. I'm trying to add .015" dimensionally, no crack repair, but I'm not sure of exactly what type of braze tape or temp. I think maybe PWA 4777 at 1925-1950, but I'm concerned about that being too high since we perform another braze on that same part at 1825 using Ni-538 earlier in the process.

Hi Riddle -
1.  Could you supply a Specification or chemistry for the Ni-538?  Such as AWS A5.8, AMS, UNS number.
2.  Nickel plating of 718 can be replaced by a NicroBlast Grit blasting media from Wall Colmonoy Corp.
