We limit the use of flammable materials to areas where no hot work is happening at that time. (Notice that I didn't say no flammables in the welding area, just not at the same time. If thaty can't be avoided, we increase ventilation (open doors, etc) to reduce the risk.
Flammable material usage must be addressed on our daily Activity Plans, which address the hazards and preventative actions.
Our anti-spatter spray is water based and dispensed in "pump" bottles.
Our horses are made of HSS 4 x 4 x 1/4 but the ends are capped to prevent sliding an aerosol can inside. As you know, steel horses take a lot of abuse and we don't want to find spray can under an torch nick.
Maintenance and painting areas are separate from production areas in order to limit the need for using aerosol products near ignition sources.
