Wanted to know if anyone has ever herd of the Meta-Lax stress relief (www.bonal.com) which creates a pulsating weld puddle during welding. I have been working on an aluminum assembly with high tolerances and have been unsuccessful in being able to weld the part and maintain the dimension because of distortion.

I have been welding .5” 5083 aluminum, 200 preheat, GMAW process, 1/16 5356 Filler, 5/16 Fillet

One stress relief method that doesn't interfere with the dimensions of the welded piece is Vibrational Stress Relief (VSR).
