Anyone know who sells the large welding umbrellas with a vent in the center on umbrella?

yes Lapco makes a very nice 7' er. contact Tom Waters (225) 927-2699. kinda expensive $110 to $120. They do come with a tri-pod and case.

scrappywelds, I need one of those myself. I called that number you listed and it says it is not in service. Tell you what I'd settle for a Martha Stewart myself right now.

You can get a "7ft. Vinyl and Acrylic Coated Canvas Umbrella
LAPCO 5 1/2ft. Yellow Vinyl Umbrella" at: http://joesboots.com/searchresult.aspx?CategoryID=30

I have been looking for a new Umbrella and stumbled across this one, seems to be a good price with the free shipping. I'm working on a Solar Power Plant just south of Las Vegas, NV. The temprature and cloudless skys are allready requiring some king of a sun blocking apperatice. I've been lucky so far I've been working mostly in the shade of the forty foot tall "Raw Water" tank. We should be getting thru with this project in the next 45 to 60 days.
Here is a webpage you can view the project at:  http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/03/nevada_solar_on.php

Hey Jim, I worked on that job from Mid October till 1st Feb. How long you been there? Who's your foreman?
It was pretty hot when I got there, quite a shock coming down from Alaska, that sun is pretty strong out there in the desert. I started on the 18 and 20 inch lines going thru the solar fields, then the 3 inch tying in to the tubes.
That Lauren is one unorganized bunch, they were always running out of consumables, how can you have 50 welders on a job and order one box of clear lenses at a time?

How's the job going? I see they are still advertising for welders all over the internet.

I'm kinda curious about what kind of glare they're gonna put out when they turn all those mirrors at the sun!

regarding the joesboots site: That is a damn good deal at 125.95. The umbrella even has it's own tripod!

Sounds like a hell of adeal. Just can't seem to find one in Canada. I'm guessing because noone thinks it rains up here. I'm still looking so if anyone knows of a supplier north of the border let me know.
