Anyone have a good advise for welding spatter getting into the ear i got some running overhead it hurts like hell feels like my ear is plugged any suggestions.

Honestly...you should probably go to a Dr. It can get infected easily and only a Dr. would be able to asses the damage. Ive doneit too,and, it sure makes a lasting impression on you about the use of ear plugs. Good luck.

You know its always a guy has to squeeze that last weld in for the day.... my goggles are at the truck and i need to hit this pass a little more and dont go to the truck for the glasses and thats when you get an eye full.....and the list goes on.does anybody relate.

I watched a guy a few years ago crawl, (screaming), around on a crappy old dirt floor in his workshop, unable to stand without falling over. He burned through his eardrum and into his equilibrium sack. I don't know what the end result was, but I don't think I want to know!

Ya i know the feeling i did not burn it too bad they said it was only a peice about the size of a ball point pen end,however i am on some heavy antibiotics,sure wont forget the old earpluggs next time!!

Ear plugs will at the least stop some of the other horror stories here.....

When I did vessel work (lots of overhead) I got a second hood and pop riveted some leather (apron) over the top and the back sides.....this basically covered my whole head and kept me fire free   (arc gouging taught me quick).....If your wire welding or stick welding you need the protection dude.   Its hot but its better than having a blister in your ear keeping you up all night.
