We installed this 3/4" A307 bolt into some threads in a piece that was going to be hot dip galvanized to keep the threads clean. When we got this material back we take out the bolts and clean up the threads so that they are ready to accept A325 bolts. This is one of the bolts that we took out of this galvanized material....2/3rds of the bolt was cracked...you can see the zinc inside the bolt and less than 1/3rd of the bolt was left in tact and it sheared off when we tried to take the bolt out. Just wondered if it cracked during dipping or came from the bolt mfg already cracked.
