Hi ScttHS!

What part of PA do live in?

You also might want to check out the AWS S.E.N.S.E. list in the AWS website for the state of Pennsylvania.

If your GPA is high enough and you're relatively good in math, then Lehigh University offers an excellent Welding Engineering/Material Sciences program. So does Penn State.

The Pennsylvania State Department of Higher Education also has a list of community colleges that offer Welding Technology Associate degree programs. Do a "Google" search to find the links because, I do'nt have them readily available for you. I apologize for that!!!

Anywho, I'll get back to you with some more info as soon as I can...

Best of luck to you!

Hello again ScttHs!

Try contacting the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center.
Beth Ann Haas is the Facility Representative and John Boyer is the instructor.

They're located @ 432 Old Market Street, Mount Joy, PA, 17552
Phone: 717-653-3000, Fax: 717-653-0901
Website Address: http://www.lcctc.org/
Click "Programs", then click "Manufacturing", then you'll find welding technology towards the bottom of the list. Click it and you'll find the info you're looking for. Good Luck!

Note: This is an Entry level welder S.E.N.S.E. school only.

Respectfully,

Along with the Lancaster School of Technology, the Pennsylvania College of Technology also offers a fine welding program.

Scott, im not sure what type of welding you are interested in but if you let me know i can give you the numbers and contact person for a couple of different trade union's ie: steamfitters, ironworkers etc... all offer an exceptional apprentice program and best of all the training is free.. So wether it's pipe or steel post it up here and i hope i can help you out..

p.s. it's great to see a kid interested in a trade instead of playstation
