Does anybody know who can chop down an SA 200? What would a chop job run? Does any one have one for sale or know someone that does?

Once properly chopped the radiator sits down in battery box and you have to mount the battery someplace else. You can only drop it about 3 inches, the fuel tank is left sitting within 1/2" of generator housing and you have to cut and reweld brace bars. The cooling issue is because you have to cut down the length of the fan blades. You also have to remove the inner shroud.

I've seen it done everyway possible. But for a working machine I wouldn't advise it. The spacing of the machine is necessary for proper cooling of the engine and generator.

Hello KSellon, have any of them considered using an electric fan on the radiator, or are there issues with this that I'm not understanding? You could likely formulate some sort of shroud if you could use an electric fan. Regards, aevald

i saw 1 at my mechanics that was chopped and 2 electric fans 1 inside and 1 out looked like well it was bad very bad and it still ran hot to me yeah it gives a few more inches of space but it aint worth it

The 12v electric fan and shroud (for rice burner race cars) can not create the draw of air needed to cool. The machine in the pics has a nice big electric fan, but that is the complaint of the customer.

That is why it is ok to drop them not chop them. If Lincoln could have made it different they would have, but to date they are making them with the same design for a reason.

The machine in the pics will never be able to run pipeline. It will be for light use only. Stinks to spend that much time and money and not have a usable machine. JMO

I'd love to see some pics! Would you happen to know of anybody that chops them down?
