I am looking for someone that is familiar with repad calculations.
Specifically, calculating the A3 value for available reinforcement
I have seen variation in this formula with the Pressure Vessel Handbook,Section VIII Div 1, and owner/user/manufacturer calculation.

Usually an inside projection is given, but really is the available reinforcement beyond the inside fillet weld doing any good as far as availble reinforcment for calculation?

Just any thought and experience with adding the A3(area of inside extension of nozzle in square inches) would be great!
