I have been testing out of the D1.1 for about two years now and have only been doing the 3/8 groove.  Most of our conrtactors are only interested in some kind of paperwork saying that a person can weld.  I now have a small problem.  I need to figure out what I need to do with 321 stainless and a 347-16 electode.  I dont always have access to any material that I need and I have also not ever done anything like this.  The paperwork was already in place when I started doing the testing for D1.1.  I know that there is a procedure out there somewhere.  For the test do I need to use 321 or will any stainless in that class B work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

4.7.5 Base Metal in D1.6:2007 page 76 may be what you're looking for but, to summarize, if you qualify with any prequalified material in D1.6 your qualified to weld on all prequalified material covered by the standard.
