i just bought this 1952 gmc one ton a month ago. since i just restored my 1946 Lincoln Shorthood, i needed a truck to restore from that same era so i can mount the welder on an old school truck.

i got the fenders off today, engine and tranny removed. cabs coming off tomorrow. im taking the  body to Hartfields Restoration in Canton Tx. they are going to take care of the body and paint. engine and trans are going to Lavicky Machine here in Enid OK. Im up for ideas on an old school bed. Does anybody have ideas . Something simple from that era. Pictures would be appreciated. thanks darin.

a product of ebay. drove 300 miles to York nebraska to pick it up. 400 bucks for the truck and 200 in diesel later, i had it in my driveway. 1952 gmc ONE TON. i have been looking for quite sometime..i have had this dream to build an "old school" truck. body is about 95% straight. this truck was a delivery truck for a livestock feed company. they delivered bagged livestock feed to the farmers/ranchers.

I would really like to find some pics of an old welding truck. Im really excited on getting ideas from you fellow AWS junkies on a welding bed. If anyone has pics of an old welding bed, Please post it.

whats that say pork on the side of it. what ever bed you do i thinkl it aught to have a wood floor. but something nice not just pretreated pine well just an idea

im thinking a hauler style bed(skirted). Planning to set the 46' shorthood lengthways on the bed, so you can see the detail of the welder.

truck was owned by a feed company. said "pork" on one side and "milk" on the other .  a company called HY FINE. does anyone know about this company.

if you really want to use it, take the ol 216 out and drop in a 292, then you can bump the rear gear to where she is a little more road worthy. I think you could find some Bud wheels for that in polished aluminum, tubeless that way. She is a good lookin rig!

truck has a 270. i just put a 14 bolt rear end out of an 85 one ton cab and chassis. got 16inch tires all the way around it,now. got new stainless simulators coming.

Oh yeah, baby............... that will do.

My father in law has a 54 that I have been hounding him about for years. Unfortunately it will probably grow trees through it's frame.
