Can anyone tel me what BAg alloys would be suitable to meet class 6 medical materials. Have a customer who is brazing 304 stainless for inplants. Not sure where to look for this.

Thanks

BAg-7 works.  The color match should be good.

Bag-24 is stronger.  Gold color.

Bag-22 is strongest but a bit harder to work with.  Gold color.

This is from a brazing standpoint based on my experience.  Can't help you from a medical standpoint.  I Assume no liability, etc.

I believe all of those filler metals contain zinc and or cadmium, which I am assuming are bad news for implants.  BAg-8 or BAg-13a are Cu/Ag or Cu/Ag/Ni fillers that might be ok, of those BAg-13a will work without a flux via vacuum brazing. Bau-4 (Au/Ni) or BNi-2 (Ni,Cr,Fe, B, Si) might be a better choice.  I also do not know if any of these meet the Class 6 requirements, but they do work for brazing 304.
