We are investigating the cost of setting up our weld shop to weld titanium. We do a wide range of stainless steels, carbon steel, and Nickel base alloys. We use purging and trailer cups on a variety of applications. What I am in need of information on is where do you find fixturing for the outside of pipe and plate (for gas coverage) when doing fabrication.
I have seen a variety of purge dams for pipe I.D.'s but nothing for the outside of beveled pipe and plate joints. Any information would be appreciated.

I have always made my own fixtures to match the particular application. However I have been noticing an ad in the AWS Welding Journal from a company called Weld Hugger that is selling trailing shield kits.
