I know of an old Chyrsler 6 cyl on a Hobart. The only one I've seen with a 8 cyl Ford like that was one a customer swapped out himself.
In the old days Hobart and Lincoln sold the generator part of a welder seperate for home/shop built or tractor/PTO power. You might find one of the homebuilt units if You poke arround enough. I have pictures in some old Hobart literature, so I know it was done.
i have seen several inline 6 cylinders, but not any v-8's.
I ran one a few years ago with a flathead Ford V8. It had a Westinghouse generator end hooked to it. The engine went bad but I did end up with the generator end left.
THANK YOU all for the replies. I've been restoring everything from street rods to farm tractors, and thought a flathead powered welder would fit in perfect with my "line of work". THANKS AGAIN.
Your in luck Bones, I just saw one on EBAY, looks like he just posted it. Item number: 120186605008

It would be sweet.
yes it would painted cany apple red with some stainless echo chambers on it i'd be heard from miles away what would it cost about 10 grand lol
With all that stainless and chrome you'd have to go with an Hawiian Orchid. The candy apple would be good with gold accents. Yeah guys put 10K into for a diesel, why not a trick out?

Were you ever able to locate one? I'm also looking for one to restore and use... any contacts? I'm in the midwest.
Thanks
