If it is a portable tank, most propane dealers can do it. Cost around $25.

I thought the 100# ones were exempt. We have two from work that are from the '60s that have never been recertified to my knowledge. The other day at the propane dealer, the guy helping me said he had one from 1946.

~thirdeye~ , dot is 12 yrs since new , mfg. date is stamped on it . next renewals have other limits i'll ask jerry today when i see him if i remember , i have to plow his snow today . good luck . willie

No, but larger tanks may be exempt from OPD valve requirements.

~thirdeye~ ,just got in from plowing snow , talked to jerry he said 12 yrs on first stamp and 12 yrs on renewal stamp . so that should answer your question . he's in alaska . good luck . willie

YES IT STILL LOOKS PRETTY NEW BUT THE DOT EXPERATION DATE IS IN BIG STAMPED # ILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP AND HOPE ALL IS GOOD IN 08 THANKS TANKIE
