Any thoughts on this machine?  I've read the specs, but want opinions.  Any and all criticism's are appreciated!  It'll be for general use.  :)

great all round machine ,cheap, perfect machine to start with and if you dont mind the gas keep using. I have seen experienced beadhands who run them on their trucks. But they arehard on gas and disposable at around 5000 to 6000 hrs

Thanks for the input!  I'm going to check out machines this Friday, and I've had my eye on the 305 for a few months now.

hey mat if your serious about buying i will sell you mine with 500 hrs on it, remote with 100ft. and its painted lincoln grey and other than that its plain stock 4 oil changes (10w30 synthetic in sum. and 5w30 synthetic in winter) always starts no matter how cold. Im not sellin it because of any problem but i wanted to get a diesel for awhile and looks like i might get a new 300d this week  (780)717-8150 i got a way to load it in a truck  Edmonton AB.  I was gonna keep it for back up but if someone was interested i might sell it. This is a great little machine to break out with. I know mine paid for itself on the first check.  Just something to think about

You may also want to consider the miller trialblazer 302 with the robin engine. I know some people that are using them and they work well and run quiet.  I believe there have been carburator icing /starting issues in cold weather with the koehler engines. I can tell you that both machines weld nice, as I have had an opportunity to weld with both. I believe they have a cold weather kit available for the 305g, maybe someone else  here knows more about it.

oh my gosh, cant believe anybody would choose the lincoln 305 over the more versatile and ac output of a trailblazer.the tb302 is the best welder for general welding ever made.hands down

Tell us more mark.

Perhaps I should clarify, General steel welding.  I've never done any AC welding, it's all been DCEP or DCEN.

I think the miller vs lincoln debate is based on preference...but don't quote me on that.

What makes it a "no brainer" ?

Sorry to bring back my old post, but does anyone have mounthole measurements and hole sizes for the 305?

I've been working on a skid for the machine to mount onto when I get it, but I need the hole locations.  :)

I'm *hopefully* getting the deck for it cut on monday.  I already have the angle and channel.  Forgive the drawing, it was done in mspaint.
