a short hood is exactly that the hood and frame are shorter than a regular 200 machine they were made in the 40'and 50's 1/2 of the arm. housing sticks thru the front of the machine an arm on a shorthood is longer than a long hood send me a pic of your machine and i'll help ya out what year is your machine
