Is there a site anywhere that brakes down the differences between the different code #'s on the sa200's?

Not looking for a Serial# chart, Im just wanting to know what exactly each different code# means. IE: I have a machine that is serial# 319151 & code# 2364 so I know the machine is a 1954 model but what does the code# signify?

To tell you the truth, its all comes from experience. Lincoln offers no short cut.

The code for your machine : http://content.lincolnelectric.com//pdfs/products/navigator/im/IM142.pdf

This manual covers codes 3400 and below, but will show you some differences in the armature bolt up, etc. You have to look at the top of the page to see what went with each code number. This is why we ask your code number when you ask about parts, etc.

Thanks Kaye, there is alot of GREAT information there.

Now if I could just get my parts from Darin I could get rolling with this machine.

good luck with that it looks to me like a lesson learned the hard way not to be mean or even sound like a jerk but always check things out before you pay for them i picked up a red face today and welded with it for an hour with 5/32 and 3/16 rod before i gave the guy an answer turns out i pretty much stole it but i gave what he asked

The only problem with that was that Daring appears to have a grest reputation on the board, I didn't think there was any reason I needed to go over this thing with a fine tooth comb on the spot. Not only that but the damage was covered up with quite it bit of paint and other crap, I was only able to see the damage once I started cleaning everything up. I bought the machine as a non running machine but Darin did not disclose a trashed block, only that it was in need of a little TLC.

HI, ksellon I chat with weldersales about may sa-250 with no serial # or code # he toll me; I can look at the right side of the generator and the code# is there and a found this # 214 2BCD you now wath its mean?, because I look on the lincoln web and I don't found nothing, can you help me?. thank you.

214 2BCD is the style of alternator bracket you have on that machine. Which is a 3.0KVA alternator bracket

You need to look just behind where the 'wrapper' (this metal wrapper covers your main generator brushes) sits in front of your generator housing, at 1 o'clock on the generator housing you will find a 4 digit number stamped. Probably 8568 thru 9000.
