Hello
Hope you can help me out. I am practicing welding a T in a 8" pipe.
In all the info I can find it tells you to cut a 45 degree in the vertical and horizonal peices and that they should mate right up. Well my question is how do you run a root pass and all your filler passes if there is no gap. If you make the customary 30 degree bevel that makes the cut you neet to make at 15 degrees which will make for a lot of filler passes.
Well hope you can help me on this as it is my first time at trying to fabricate and weld a T.

more bevel in the throat that transitions to a square cut near the points, the vertical piece, of course
