We sent out a frame for heat treating that was made from T6 6061 per customer Req. When we recieved the frame back 2 sections on the frame that was enclosed by weld joints were blown up like a ballon and had a .250 inch rise on the flat panel! We think it might have been trapped gas that caused it to expand in its soft state. We are working with the engineers to get them to add a small hole for ventilation.
My question is, we heat some of our parts up to 450 degrees for painting, will this effect the material or welding.
