I worked with a welding inspector with 30 years expercece has a boilermaker and welder. He was going to inspect our fitup. We were puting a morrision tube in 250 hp boiler. It a hanging outhalf way in when he showed up. He scounged up some wood a hour and and a half later, the morrison tube was in, it was three man job involing come-alongs. When we got back to the office three days later, they didn't know a thing, he told them I did a good job "everything looked great." Didn't say a word.
You can tell real fast if a welding insector liked working in the field. Field experience is underestamated. It's rear to find one that knows what an ultra clamp is. Has long has they don't tell me to put E6010 in the rod oven I'm happy.
