Has anyone read the full article (in "Science") on this?
I would be interested in how it can be welded and how properties can be restored after welding. Also, does "tempforming" sound a lot like the methods used by sword makers of old?

I've read about Tipper before, but not on the site you listed.

This process doesn't seem to have anything in common with old time sword making, at least as I know it. The link article would have been better if it listed mechanical properties of the "new" material.
