One question.
Is there a Flux Cored wire for the welding of Superduplex material.
If so, where could i find it on the web.
We've been trying to weld superduplex with GMAW-p; It is a nightmare.

Thanks

These guys sale technical papers about welding Super Duplex Stainless Steel.

Lincoln sale mig, tig, and stick for welding Super Duplex Stainless Steel.  I don't know about flux core or dual shield.
You might call them and find out.

There are some SDSS flux cored wires. Usually matching proprietary chemistries (for example Zeron 100). Contact the Euroweld guys.
But depending on what your problems are I doubt FCAW is gonna help.
Nickel base alloys is another choice.

I have only used the Nickel Based Alloys but as solid wire.

The GMAW Pulsed with those wires was sensitive to tip and liner wear and drive rolls. We used Synergenic machines that were difficult to adjust individual paramters on them. But once they were set, they would make a nice Vertical Up weld. Overhead and Horizontal were usually no problem.

I did notice that one could set the machine to make nice visual beads that had areas of non fusion similar to GMAW Short Circuit Transfer.

Ed Craig has some materials listed on his site at http://www.weldreality.com/Duplex%20Home%20page.htm that may be of interest. Don't know what grade you are using.
