I would like to hear some recommendations for best welding gloves; for MIG and for TIG.  What flavor works best for you, is the most comfortable, and lasts the longest?

I am primarily interested in shop hands, but will happily read all entries.

For myself, Tillman has always been the way to go as far as comfort goes.  They don't last very long, but I don't mind too much.  :)

I've always liked the dexterity of driver's gloves. Driver's gloves are usually what are handed out for free when working for a contractor, so I don't get too sad when they get burnt up. Overall Tillman products in general are pretty good to go in my opinion though. I am not a huge fan of the "pig skin" gloves they have, but the goat skin ones are decent for anything where you know you won't have an abundance of splatter.

I've always used Tillman or Black stallion welding gloves. At the current place I work gloves are provided free of charge if requested and they stock Black stallion gloves http://www.revcoindustries.com/catalog/tig-welding-gloves-c-75_227.html

That's what I use for Tig and light duty MIG, I like the feel and dexterity of the uninsulated gloves.  I also use some mig gloves.

I find the wear is pretty good and they are cheap enough that  i don't mind going through a pair of $7 gloves every 2-3 months.

On high amperage welds I use thicker MIG gloves or Stick gloves, but now that I'm in the sheet metal fab world that's pretty rare. Oh and I'm an engineer now so It seems I never run more than a bead or two while setting up machines.

these are my favs.  They are good for high heat welding like stick or fluxcore but they have enough manual dexterity that I have used them for Tig work also.

Yeah, those are great for stick.  The unlined palms leave you with plenty of dexterity for stick.
BTW, for an extra few cents, you can get these with nomex padding behind your hand instead of foam (which I don't like as much).
They insulate the heat from the back of your hand very well, which is why my wife stole a pair for using around the fireplace.
The elk leather is butter smooth and very comfortable, but still too thick for me to use for TIG.
For that, I use their goatskin gloves, which leave me with just about enough dexterity to sort change in my pockets.
