Welder test and welder certificate

Is there any specification concerning the welder (operator) test of Submerged Arc Welding process? Or this method (since it is automatic) is only qualified for Welding Procedure Specification.

SubArc is Simi-automatic (like GMAW and FCAW) and qualification is the same as with all Processes.

Just because a person is qualified for a manual process such as SMAW or GTAW does not qualify them for SAW or any other process other than the ones they are qualified in.

There are other Esential Variables that discribe the ranges of qualifaction in a process.

If you look at a code such as ASME IX, it will give you all the performance variables for each process, including SAW.
