I have an upcoming series of tests for an Inconel procedure development effort and am thinking about grinding consumables.  Are there any grinding consumables that are a definite no-no because they leave junk in the ground surface?  And likewise, are the grinding consumables that are more preferred because they are clean?  I do not expect to be doing much grinding, so consumable longevity is not a big concern, it's more cleanliness I'm interested in.

I used to do quite a bit of Inconel/Hastelloy grinding and blending. Mostly on comparatively thin materials..  Less than .125".

We liked routing with small carbide burrs, smaller burrs can be run with a 80,000 rpm ARO die grinder..
(be sure burrs and die grinders match rpm ratings)

Blending was most often doen with Aluminum oxide discs.. 80-120 grit.

Silicon Carbide discs were also available but in my opinion did not last as long.
