Can anyone tell me what the D in this weld symbol means? I figured out the a5, but have no clue what the D stands for. Thanks for any help.

Here's another weld description. The D is the welding class but I don't know how they are classified.

I forgot to mention, I thought they had thier symbols reversed, arrow side vs. other side, but that is apparently the way it is done across the pond.
