i just bought me an SA-250 but it is too long to fit in my truck sideways (behind the rear glass).  i know these can be chopped up to fit. Does anyone have any pics of what a chopped SA250 looks like.  Any tips on how to shorten it.  I need to shorten it about 3".

I have seen them move the radiator cover in to the radiator then move the front to the armature. I have also seen them just move the front panel back like a 200 then build a end cap. If you can find a old 200 frame just put in there.

What kind of truck do you have an s10? Seems my 250 is only 68 or 70" long end to end. Ok, 67-1/2". You might chop 3-4 off the panel side but to make them shorter length wise it seems you might be limited just because of the internals. Putting it on a 200 frame won't make it much shorter. Think my 200 overall was still almost 67" long from tip of the cone to end of the machine, maybe a +/- in there.

Yeah your right. I was thinking he was wanting the shorter frame. How is it not fittin into a 96" bed you should still have 28" if your toolbox is in the way buy a new toolbox. Can you turn it sideways behind back window. I have seen them but dont know what they had to do for it to fit

Put it in a 200pipe frame and body and it'll fit yes I have seen it but never done it

A buddy of mine just trimmed the bed rails and it fit right in there.

I can't believe you Shad. You will notch your hood for a Light Pole but you won't notch your bed for a Machine ! What's up with that sh*t ?

It was time for a new radiator

Why modify a perfectly good welding machine?!?!?  you can remove your truck bed and build a hell for stout flatbed for less then 600.  If you are careful you can build a welding bed and skirt it for under 1000 -toolboxes.  Modify the truck to suit the machine screw messing with the machine to carry a welder in a pickup bed. If things go your way you will want a welding bed anyway so why not start that way within your budget and add as you go.

I dont líke the idea of cutting the bed.  I started modifing the machine today I think its gonna come out looking good.
