I usually try to buy Excellene or Carol welding cable.  I found a pretty good deal on some Flex O Prene.  Anybody used it before? Is it worth a flip or just cheap?

Don't know anything about it Tommy but apparently you can get it at Walmart....

Guess that tells us where it is made at least....

I use the the 2/0 Flex-A-Prene.  It's not too bad.

Made in the USA btw.  http://www.directwireusa.com/About/

That's good to know, the made in USA part. Does it hold up pretty well? Shielding don't get damaged to easy, nick, tear?

Flex-A-Prene and Caroleprene both have EPDM jackets so they will wear about the same.  The only difference seems to be the strand count of the copper.  The Carolprene 2/0 has 1248 strands of 30 gauge while the Flex-A-Prene has 1235 strands of 30 gauge.  I have had this cable for about a year and a half and so far so good.

Merry Christmas!

I appreciate the replies.  A spool of cable is a good chunk of $ that is hard to part with if you are unsure of the quality.  I found a spool of 1/0 a guy will let go at $2 a foot!!

Merry Christmas!
