In your opinion, which is a more user friendly TIG rod for joining these 2 base materials.  Right now we use ERNi-1 which works, but is tricky.  Would ERNiCu-7 be a better alternative in everyones opinion?

Hi Kix

I would not go for ERNiCu-7, because if you get too much Fe dilution you will get cracking problems. Better to stick with the Ni filler or possibly use Inconel 82. Any of the high Ni alloy fillers do not flow well, so will be a bit of a challenge if you are not use to it.

Kix is this a job you are about to start if it is it should call out what filler material to use on the print and if it don't it is up to the customer or the engineer over the job.

We're in the early stages of qualifying a procedure to weld 90/10CuNi pipe to a carbon steel butt weld union, 150PSI max pressure and it's just water flowing through it.  I know there are multiple fillers that will suffice for this operation and just wanted to use the most user friendly in this particular case.
