field weld symbol

hi, i have a question, wich side the flag of the field weld symbol should point? i need to know if should point in a direction always (left or right) or to the tail, i don't need an answer like this: any side, i don't lose sleep for this, and more, i need an answer only one of this: left, right or to the tail

AISC - To the tail
AWS - Either direction, no specification.
