I am quality engineer & facing issue with pipe to pipe alignment. the girth butt weld joint of pipe to pipe is straight as per drawing but erected in an angle of 15 degree. the construction code is B31.3 & I searched for alignment, but not found anything like this. In code it is mentioned only about internal misalignment & that is as per WPS or engineering specification. Please suggest for that if it need to be cut & reweled or we can leave it like this.

Please check picture for better understanding.

ASME construction codes do not provide instruction of the "how to" nature. As you noted, the engineer should be providing direction to the contractor on matters relating to the required groove angles, root opening, root face, alignment, etc. The WPS can include that type of information or they can initiate a separate working document to cover issues not addressed by the construction code.
