Dear All,

pls update me about P-number and F-number.
Also update me about the basis on which these numbers were given.

P-Numbers apply for base materials, F-Numbers apply for filler metals. Each is "grouped" into alloy "families" as indicated in ASME Section IX.

As long as you are talking about F numbers and P numbers, don't overlook the A number when working with either ASME or AWS D2.1. The A number is the chemical analysis of the weld deposit. The A numbers apply to ferrous metals and are grouped based on chemistry of the diluted weld deposit.
