What code, if any, would the repair and manufacturing of radiators fall under? Lets just say I was going to take the tops and bottoms of old radiators that have bad cores, and weld them to new cores.

These are aluminum radiators for large vehicles, and I think they plan on GTAW or GMAW them. Does that sound right?

Don't know squat about it but sounds like a nice place to perfect your GMAWP process control

A sweet little Miller 350P and An XREdge gun...   I was just playing with ours yesterday... so slick

Lawrence,
Not sure what machines they will use, I am still in the early stages of this. I will sure keep this in mind if asked to recommend. Thanks for the input.

Oh yes..... I have seen the New Lincoln stuff & it does a fantastic job as well. Pulse on Pulse, I believe it's trade name is called. S.W.

Yes!

We have some Lincoln Powerwaves and they are really good for the GMAWP.

Pulse on Pulse and Regular synergic

GMAWP and a thing called RapidArc for steels... and of course STT

The salesman describes the things as a welding tool box, and he has a point... They are quite versatile.

Those Power Waves kick some butt doing CAC too.

only aluminum rads i mesed with were when i was doing body repairs and they had plastic tanks on them we just replaced i was told by my radiator guy here in town the plastic tanks can be replaced but it's a pain in the a$$ i looked at 1 real close once and it looks like it would be

Yeah, I have not even actually laid eyes on any of this as of today, just trying to get a jump on it.

i'm sure it could be done with tig i think mig would be to likely to leak but that jus my opinion

The newer MIG pulsing stuff they got out now will do just as nice as TIG & look amazing. I was surprised to see it for myself, but it blew me away how nice & perfect that aluminum looked with GMAW-P. All to code as well. These guys were welding custom trailers. S.W.
