It is an innovative pipe welding solutions as a flux-cored TIG rod for the most efficient welding. MAGNA 39FC helps welders in eliminating the need for back shielding or purging using inertgas, excessive downtime, and all related set-up costs in maintenance pipe welding. The backside of the root pass can be shielded by MAGNA 39 againest the destructive impact of atmospheric gases . MAGNA 39 is an ideal in-situ maintenance welding formulation suitable applications in refineries, power station, chemical plants,or fertilizer plants. Classification : ASME/AWS A5.22 R316L T1-5

labib,
With all due respect the question was advice on purging s/s pipe.
If the poster had wanted to know about how to weld s/s without purge then your advice would be helpful.(although calling flux cored tig wire innovative might be going a bit far)
Regards,
Shane

If I may add to Shane's pointed critique, the flux cored tig rod will not shield the HAZ adequately. FC-GTAW is certailnly a viable option, but for a very narrow application range.

Yeah, sounds so good! Try getting the 'client' to accept it! With good reason, in most (not all) cases!

Daniel,

I'm based in the UK and the link I am posting is for, probably the leading supplier of stainless steel purging equipment in the UK, loads of good info as well! Flux-Cored TIG wire is an option but many clients will not accept it's use on critical applications as it will leave a residue inside the pipe...........amongst other things!

By the way, I have NO relationship-business or otherwise with the posted link!!!
